The tradition of the production is shown in our house in the life of grapes on the vine and with the modern accessions in the production it is allied with life of wine. Respect the nature, understand it and know its characteristics are our basic task. So the traditional accession is also very important in the preservation of vine as natural cultural heritage. After all folk tradition influnced at choice of the sort over individual positions and experience of several years by family vinedresser, who knew the success of the sort in the particular environment. We are liable to preserve the vine as a natural culture and family heritage and to bring it up together with its fruits with today's knowledge.

Short history of Maribor viticulture:

• wine was already known in these places before the arrival of Romans
• vineyards were already planted by Celts and Illyrians in the ancient times, 400 years before Christ
• »the old vine« on Lent was planted about 450 years ago
• the surroundings of Maribor as a viniferous region is famous already from the Middle Ages, when the decisive white wines were getting on also on the then european market
• in 1882 the Habsburgian archduke Janez bought the estate near Pekre (today it is called Meranovo) and he contributed to the development of Maribor viticulture
• in 1872 schoolf of viticulture and fruit growing was founded, and because of its scientific and professional activity was the most reputable institution of Austrian-Hunrgarian monarchy
• at the end of the 60. years of the 20th century the new image of the slovene wine trade with the influence on the wine quality was beginning to be shaped in Podravje
